Madoka moved a step closer to the crown as she was able to defeat Kyouko without any fuss. For Madoka fans, jubilation. For Kyouko fans, it’s once again a case of so-close-yet-so-far. Still, Kyouko can be proud of her efforts – as mentioned yesterday she’s done very well by defeating the likes of Rikka, Sawa, Tsukiko and Azuki Azusa during the course of the tournament. However, when it comes down to a battle with a fellow Puella Magi, Kyouko’s always going to find it tough since she’s not amongst the top in the hierarchy.
Preview:

Miki Sayaka @ Puella Magi Madoka Magica
- Block H Winner
- Notable opponents defeated: Miyanaga Teru, Shirai Kuroko, Chitanda Eru, Yoshino, Tomoe Mami
So here we go, the match that could probably decide matters even before the Final takes place. Watashi will be attempting to extend her fairytale run by bringing down Sayaka today, while the latter will be hoping to join her best friend in the Final. Sayaka and the Madoka faction has hardly put a foot wrong in this tournament, and with Sayaka even beating the monstrous Mami convincingly in the previous round, it seems like it’s mission impossible for Watashi.
Still, Watashi must not be underestimated. Getting this far without proper faction support and without any indirect help from tactical voting is a testament to her strength, and with the neutrals and anti-Madokas by her side today, she could still pose a problem to Sayaka. The question is whether these neutrals and antis will turn up today, seeing that the vote counts have been low – indicating that many have lost interest in tournament.
In any case, the Madoka faction has only suffered a blip once throughout the entire tournament – and even that was a result of their own mistake which led to Ayase’s win in the second round. Like the others before her, Watashi is unlikely to find a way past the Madoka faction today.
Prediction: Sayaka
One more to go for Madoka, and she will be the next Saimoe Prime Minister of Japan.
No chance for Watashi. There’s no anti-Madoka. But still, nice try to warm up the match.

Just a thought, has there ever been a finals match with both contestants from the same series before?
2004 – Ashita No Nadja
2008 – Lucky Star
2011 – Madoka
2012 – Saki
Thanks. Good to know. ^_^
As much as I love Sayaka… I really hope Watashi can win! Maybe then we’ll have a main character final? *giggles a little*
