1st 182 Sakura Kyouko @ Puella Magi Madoka Magica
2nd 86 Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko @ Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko
The Madoka faction continue their relentless march towards the crown as Kyouko was able to defeat Tsukiko without breaking a sweat. The low vote totals and the lack of competition continue to persist, which is a shame considering that we are in the quarter final stage.
In any case, Tsukiko’s exit leaves Watashi as the only debutante left, probably something many didn’t expect at the start of the tournament. A bit of a disappointment since Tsukiko was one of the top favorites to seize the crown this year, but considering how things have gone, she has done well to get this far.
Kaname Madoka @ Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Kuroneko @ Ore no Imouto wa Konna Kawaii Wake ga Nai
Kuroneko has a score to settle with the Madoka faction – having being knocked out in the quarter-final stage 2 years ago by Kyouko, she’s hoping for better fortunes here. While the focus has been on other characters, Kuroneko has actually done very well throughout this tournament, securing the wins she require with decent victory margins on a consistent basis. This is pretty much similar to her performances in 2011, but she eventually came unstuck against Kyouko. I suspect a similar fate awaits her today, especially since she’s up against a even stronger Puella Magi this time round – the one who’s probably the current frontrunner for the crown.
