The catfight between Kuroneko and Tsukiko ended with the former claiming glory after mods subjected the results to the new ruling and ruled out a substantial amount of Tsukiko’s votes. With this, Oreimo’s representation in the Block Finals is up to two along the likes of Madoka, Saki and Ro-Kyu-Bu, while Azuki Azusa is left to fend for herself in the Block Finals.
Meanwhile, it was all too easy for Chitanda who once again breezed through without her curiosity being satisfied. The Block Finals will be a stern test for her though, with Sayaka most likely standing in her way then.
At the start of the round, I would have no doubts that Akarin would grab the win here, but with the new rules who knows what might happen. That said, Akarin has survived two Raildex assaults to reach this stage, a testament of her strength. The decisive factor here could very well be the combo votes with the contestants in the other match – here’s an opportunity for the Madoka faction to get rid of Akarin early on before she could pose a problem to them in the near future. Kuroneko fans would also prefer Asuna as an opponent in the Block Finals, and so do Tsukiko fans as they are forced to root for Kuroneko in order for the Stoned Cat to make a return.
However, Raildex fans who are showing their support for Kuroko would want to push Akarin so that Index and Saten would be able to qualify for repechage. Would still be leaning to Akarin because she’s generally one of the neutrals’ favorites, but don’t be surprised if Asuna emerge victorious instead.
Sayaka is the overwhelming favorite here considering the strength of the Madoka faction. The question here is whether they’ll be able to rake in the big numbers like they did with Mami and Kyouko with the new ruling now in place.
