A cold, chilly night for the Saki faction as their misery continues with Shizu being the latest in their growing list of casualties. The rule change has definitely affected proceedings, with lower vote totals in general and the Saki faction no longer being able to rake in the numbers. This means that the Senriyama pair of Toki and Ryuuka are the only representatives left for Saki, bar repechage. Will they be able to foresee a future that’s bright, or a dim one as it stands now?
Meanwhile, Watashi was able to rise to the occasion to beat Sawa in probably the fiercest match we’ve had so far in Round 3 – only winning it with a splendid rush in the final hour.
So we have Kobato vs Yoshino and Watashi vs Maho in the Block Finals, with Yoshino and Maho being the surprise packages. Once again, something that many of us wouldn’t have predicted at the start of the main round, but here we are.
The battle between the Black Cat and the Stone Cat. Kuroneko has been pretty much overshadowed by Ayase’s exploits in this year’s tournament, but she’s still Oreimo’s most reliable representative – putting in decent wins where required. However, Tsukiko is a big step-up from the competitors Kuroneko have faced so far, so she’ll have it all to do here. Leaning to Tsukiko here simply because of her novelty and Azuki Azusa’s splendid performance a few days ago (though that was before the rule change).
The last Kyoani girl that has not been defeated yet this year is not Shinka nor Rikka, but Eru. She should be able to continue flying the flag for Kyoani by winning this, unless the Madoka faction are able to work their magic again and dump her out to improve Sayaka’s chances. In any case, they probably won’t need to engage in such tactical voting anyway considering their ability to draw in huge crowds to support them (though all of those did happen before the rule change). Still, Eru should prove to be too much for Misaka Imouto to handle.
