Broken Synapse

Kyouko, Ryuuka through

 1位 429票 Sakura Kyouko @ Madoka Magica
 2位 298票 Takanashi Rikka @ Chu2Koi

 1位 419票 Shimizudani Ryuuka @ Saki
 2位 220票 Miyanaga Saki @ Saki

Another day, another heavy defeat for Chu2Koi as their brightest prospect found no answer to the Madoka faction’s relentless power. They are looking unstoppable at the moment, and on this form they could very well end up achieving the impossible by becoming repeat winners. In any case, it’s not over for Chu2Koi yet – one of either Shinka or Rikka will definitely return in the repechage round, where they’ll hope for better fortunes then. As for Kyouko, Azuki Azusa awaits her in the Block Finals, and it’ll be interesting to see how that match will turn out. We’ll find out whether Azusa’s big win yesterday was primarily due to her own strength and support or due to backing from the Madoka faction.

Meanwhile, the other match sees Ryuuka defeating Saki – further heaping misery on Saki characters from the main series. Ryuuka’s victory was mainly a result of combo votes with Kyouko – she had twice as many as Saki+Kyouko. Saki’s defeat also means that Sena is out of the tournament for good, leaving only Kobato to fly the flag for Haganai…

Hasegawa Kobato
Oomuro Sakurako

…And she’s up against Yuru Yuri’s Sakurako. Block E’s probably the weakest block of them all, and here’s a chance of either to make it into the big time by reaching the Block Finals. Yuru Yuri has let control of Block E slip with defeats to Chitose and Himawari, so Sakurako is left to fend for herself. She’s not the strongest of the Yuru Yuri girls unlike Kobato who’s one of Haganai’s leading representatives, so the latter is the favorite to win here. As for tactical voting, well Saki might want to take out Kobato here but it doesn’t really matter that much as they probably feel that Shizu has the capability to seize the block with the lack of big names and factions.

Haramura Nodoka

Misawa Maho

Nodoka to win – she’s still the old, reliable ace for the Saki faction, and furthermore, BiriBiri fans would be backing her so that the Electromaster can qualify for the repechage round. Watashi and Sawa are also lone rangers who are unlikely to engage in any form of tactical voting anyway, so there’s a ray of light for the Saki faction at least after their troubles for the past few days.

….I checked the vote tracker a few hours ago and couldn’t believe my eyes that Rikka only had 200 or so votes that close to the end of voting.

Yeah, it’s pretty surprising, isn’t it? I just hope that things won’t end up being anti-climatic in the end after all the exciting build-up we’ve had.

Yup 😦 I had a lot of hope after round 2 but so far round 3 has been all crushing victories for Madoka and those they are probably backing.

The code generator went down yesterday before the match started so there was no code for the first two hours, but looking at the graph, there’s a delay rush for Madoka at freaking 4 AM Japanese time. You can’t beat these guys without server amount of “dedication”.

Not this way. Not this way dammit.
