Haganai supporters are left to wonder what could have been if a portion of Rika’s votes had been utilized for Sena instead. Unfortunately for them, the reality is that both are now out of the tournament [putting aside repechage possibilities], leaving Kobato as their sole representative. Quite a drastic change in fortunes, especially since they were performing above expectations during the preliminaries and the first round. The consolation for them though is that Kobato is in a Block without much big names, thus allowing her a decent shot at attempting to go as far as possible.
Meanwhile, by stopping her slump, the TANOSHII devil has actually helped the Saki faction take a massive step forward in their bid to secure Block D – with Ryuuka’s victory almost certain tomorrow, the Saki faction is already guaranteed a spot in the Block Finals. Toshinou Kyouko still remains their biggest threat, but we’ll talk more about that when the time comes.
Watashi also continues to impress with 354 votes in a day where her full strength wasn’t really required.
An easy win beckons for Ryuuka. As mentioned above, the Saki faction are determined to secure a Block Final spot.
A Saki vs Yuru Yuri match-up, which will probably be a recurring theme in Blocks D and E. But Kana and Sakurako are not their strongest representatives though, so it could open up the pathway for Dekomori. Kana will certainly benefit from combo voting with Ryuuka, but we’ve already seen it amounting to nothing with Ako’s exit a few days ago. With Kana being an even weaker contestant, combo votes probably won’t be enough and this should be a win for either Sakurako or Dekomori instead. Yuru Yuri has a good chance of seizing control of Block E if their Student Council (sans Ayano) contingent can pull through, but it’s easier said than done.
This could be a tough one – Hanekawa has the edge in terms of her recent appearances in Monogatari S2, Mikan is the ever-present imouto character whom voters have a soft spot for, while Sawa is leading the lines for P.A Works this year (along with Wakana). I’m leaning to Sawa as she’s the fresh face here, and she did beat Hisa, one of last year’s semi-finalist in the first round after all.
