Oh boy, the only match-up of the day with the possibility of something interesting happening, and it did. Ako’s rapid-fire attacks was countered by Miho who defied the odds to set up a match against Kuro in the next round.
The decisive factors were down to the fact that Rikka supporters had a higher tendency to vote for Miho instead of Ako or Kumin, and the neutrals were in favor of Miho – with Cure Peace and Kuuko having a lot more combo votes with Miho as compared to Ako. Of course, some of these neutrals might very well be from the Madoka faction who were trying to make things easier for Kyouko and re-seize control of Block B. They failed to oust Rikka though (it was always going to be a distant possibility), but they did succeed for the latter.
In any case, the result today could very well be Saimoe 13’s Battle of Stalingrad. The tide of battle has turned in Block B – Saki will not have full control in the next round, and must now contend with a Mami-Miho combination that will be eager to shoot down the Matsumi sisters in the third round.
As for Miho, she will be looking to utilize the tussle between Saki and Madoka to her advantage – having probably backed to a certain extent by the Madoka faction here, she will continue to receive such support in her match against Kuro. And assuming she does make it to the block finals, she could even win Block B final with help from, funnily, the Saki faction who would seek to deny Madoka her repechage opportunity and instead send two of their own (assuming Subara is defeated by Ayase).
So to end off, here are the confirmed third-round matches we’ll be seeing:
Mami vs Yuu | Kuro vs Miho
Yui vs Toki | Ayase vs Subara
Shinka vs Azuki Azusa | ?
Kyouko vs Rikka | ?
Are you entertained yet?
Saimoe takes a one-day break –
check back this post sometime tomorrow for a preview of the next set of matches.
A Haganai split voting here between Sena and Rika – the latter has shot up in popularity following the second season of Haganai, but Sena still remains Haganai’s top ace and is likely to seize a larger proportion of the votes. Also, with Saki looking suspect after barely surviving her Round 1 duel, it’s unlikely that the Rinshan Kaihou user will take advantage of the split. That said though, Block D presents a decent chance for the Saki faction to secure a Block Final winner – a win for Saki here and Ryuuka tomorrow would definitely boost their chances, and there’s good strategic voting opportunities against their threats on the opposite side of Block D. However, I still reckon Sena will prove to be too much for Saki to handle.
We have a Raildex split here, though Last Order is mostly likely to be sacrificed here for Uiharu. That said, the Haganai combo votes, especially with Sena around, should see Kobato through. She wouldn’t want her beloved Kobato-chwannn to lose out after all.
The most straight-forward match-up for the day. Watashi to press on here.
