Big Sister

Maho, Teru, Muromi, Mio through

 1位 221票 西住まほ@ガールズ&パンツァー
 2位 159票 高山マリア@僕は友達が少ないNEXT
 3位 69票 京乃まどか@輪廻のラグランジェ season2
 1位 233票 宮永照@咲-Saki- 阿知賀編 episode of side-A

As expected, Haganai’s good streak doesn’t apply to their weaker characters as Maria was no match for Maho. Meanwhile, Teru was able to save the blushes of her Shiraitodai comrades by beating Yukinon, thus becoming only one of four five Saki contestants who debuted in 2009 to have made it to the second round. I mentioned about the Maho+Teru combo votes yesterday, and funnily enough it turned out to be the most prominent combo for the day, amounting to 140 votes. Sister power, eh?

Muromi was also able to secure a win – I guess I’ve underestimated the strength of a mermaid who has lived for millions of years. Mio was also able to go through, benefiting from being a fresh face.

Minami Touma
Shirai Kuroko

Raildex’s on a decent run, so Kuroko should win this easily even with the Minami-ke combo votes.

Miki Sayaka
Nasuhara Anastasia
Minami Haruka

Haruka has the potential to mount an upset here, but Madoka’s probably the most solid returning series so far in the tournament and will be hoping to make it five from five here. The Saki voters might want to eliminate Sayaka here having sent Teru through to the next round, but the magical girl should still be able to win this with brute force.

Kitashirakawa Anko
Nishizawa Ayumu

Anything can happen in this match, Anko is a fresh face from a series that hasn’t been remarkable at all, the Hidamari Sketch girls has been screwed up by the draw, leaving Nori as the last ray of hope, while the last time Ayumu got past Round 1 was in 2009. Prelim stats prefer Nori here, and I’ll go with her as looking at the main round, the Hayate girls have been struggling to get votes (Hinagiku being an exception, but even she fell short).

Ichii Yui
Isshiki Momo

Momo is Vividred’s only representative left in the tournament, which really explains how bad they’ve performed. This match should be a toss-up between Yui and Amy, with the latter being the sole representative of her series. Leaning to Yui here because Yuyushiki probably has the better support.

    Pretty surprising outcome imo.
I checked during the day and Teru was falling behind pretty far. And I thought 3rd group was between Momo or Nonna, but either of them had a chance.

From 2009 there are Nodoka, Saki, Kyapten and Kana, plus Teru that’s 5.
