Saimoe Fantasy 2013: Round 1

Saimoe 2013

The main round draw has been made, so it’s time for the main round fantasy picks!

Each character has been assigned MoePoints (MP) based on their performance in the preliminary rounds. The list can be viewed here. You are to select 6 characters without going over 80 MP for each block. Simple, right?

You will also be allowed to select one captain per block. The captain will earn 1.5X points (multiplier applies to the bonus points too). However, characters with 20 MP are not eligible to be chosen as captains.

Point allocation:
1st – 10 points
Edit: 2nd – 7 points (instead of 5)
3rd/4th – 0 points

Bonus points:
Highest vote % within overall block – 5 points
Highest vote within overall block – 5 points
Captain multiplier – X 1.5

So the maximum points you can possibly earn per character is [10 (1st place) + 5 + 5 (bonus)] X 1.5 (captain) = 30 points

Do note that the overall winner will be decided by the average positions participants end up after each Fantasy round. The overall winner will get a small prize from me.

  1. – Block B: Swapping Tsuyuri Kumin (15) for Takamachi Nanoha (10)
    – Block B: Swapping Sisters (5) for Nazuna (10)

    1. ….I just noticed when you put together the dream team for block A but does this mean the characters we select don’t carry over into the second round? Cause I made my picks considering who was likely to earn more points over the 3 rounds + finals instead of straight up picking….

      1. And this is not a reply to Kyousuke, I don’t know how it got posted as a reply to his comment above.

      2. Yeah, it doesn’t carry over into subsequent rounds (did that back in 2011 and it killed the competition eventually) Should have made that clearer, sorry about that. I’ll extend Block B’s deadline by 1 hour so that you can make changes if you need to.

      3. Thanks, but I had to leave after my last comment and didn’t have time to put a new team together. Block C and D look OK and I don’t feel like doing some number crunching again so I’ll leave them be.

Block A would have been where my plan would be very different if I had known about the rules. I had thought the winner of Himeko-Emilia should make it to round 3 match with Toki but couldn’t decide which one would win so I picked both to be safe and the gambled the captain bonus on Himeko since I thought she had a slight advantage against Emilia and had a huge advantage during the round 2 match since she could combo with Kuro and Kyapten. Also avoided picking any of Iwai-Mami-Yozora because two of them would be knocked out in round 2. Would have picked up Yozora at least since I thought she had the best chance of getting the highest vote percentage since she’s the only strong contender in the block who won’t receive anti votes for being a Saki char or returning champion.
