In an anti-climatic Block F final, Kuro brushed Subara aside to qualify for the quarter-finals. The Dragon Lord, along with her sister Yuu, will be the third sister/pseudo-sister pair to ever appear in the Final 8 – it remains to be seen if they can both go all the way to the final like the Applefield and Hiiragi sisters. 2004 -> 2008 -> 2012… hmm…
One of the most anticipated matches of the Block Finals, Nodocchi will take on her old pal Ako in a high-stakes match. Both contestants have been winning their matches with ease, even when up against some threatening opponents like Hitagi and Ika Musume. Nodocchi’s been Saki’s traditional ace, and her power shows no signs of waning just yet. Ako is one of the popular new faces to have emerged from the Saki series – her strength at least on par with Yuu, if not better. Saki’s victory over Koromo could have been an indication that new faces in the QF are preferred, so Ako might have the advantage here. However, Nodocchi will be hoping to enter the history books by being the first contestant to qualify for the QF three times in a row, so that might be an added incentive. That said, Koromo choked away that very opportunity a few day ago. Will Nodocchi end up like Koromo, or will she survive and be a step closer to becoming a Saimoe legend by appearing in three consecutive semi-final matches? We shall see.
Pick: Ako // Prediction: Ako
