Well, that’s the biggest match of the round done and over with. What appeared to be a scintillating match ended up being one that was riddled with fake votes as Toki showed no mercy towards Akarin, crushing her by 166 votes. Certainly with this result, Toki moves into pole position for Saimoe glory, while Akarin’s defeat means that the future’s looking bleak for the rest of the non-Saki girls – even a favorable QF draw might not help them at this rate.

Moving on to the second of three Saki vs non-Saki duels, we have Hisa taking on Cure Peace. If Hisa wins today, Saki will equal Madoka’s 2011 streak of sending 3 contestants in a row to the quarter-finals. If Peace wins today, she’ll only be the second Precure contestant to make it to the Final 8 – the last time they did that was 8 years ago! Hisa’s probably the weakest amongst the Saki contestants left, so it’s up to Peace to take the initiative here. However, there’s a big problem – among the sixteen block finalists, Peace has the lowest average votes garnered between R1 and R3. Her series support is probably the weakest too, so she’ll have to bank on the growing frustration of voters who are against the current Saki domination. With no offence to Sanya, the voters do know that this match’s the last chance of sending at least one more non-Saki contestant through on top of the guaranteed two spots. Will this work in Peace’s favor, or will the Saki rape train pulverize her?

tl;dr Pick: Yayoi // Prediction: Hisa

    1. I saw Saki and I didn’t like it so of course I think Saki is overkilling as well and yes Akari is better.

  1. so true…. akari is so much better… stupid saki being over killing this year..and i never even watch the series…

    1. then you can’t call it stupid, even though i’ve seen i both i think Saki: ACHIGA-hen was better.
Akari is the least moe of the series anyway.

  2. Damn…if Akarin couldn’t make it, Peace doesn’t stand a chance. Praying I’m wrong, but not sticking around to find out.

    Oh well, it’s been fun.

    MadPanda…(see y’all after the Saki-fest)…

  3. The only people who could ever hate on Saki, didn’t watch the series.
Give it a try, cute lesbians with mahjong undertones, what’s there not to like? It’s really nice and exciting.

  4. I too watch both show and rooting for Toki. Anyway, just deal with it. People have their own favorite.

  5. ‘What appeared to be a scintillating match ended up being one that was riddled with fake votes as Toki showed no mercy towards Akarin, crushing her by 166 votes.’

Fake vote? If there is fake vote shouldn’t it be removed? I thought Saimoe Japan have a very strict requirement to vote to the point it’s hard to vote more than one.

      1. I don’t know, but I thought the result is already official so doesn’t that mean they already check all those vote? How did you know there’s fake vote?

  6. Its unfortunate that Akarin and the last real resistance to Sakimoe is gone, but at least it was Toki that won. As long as she wins this year I’m ok with anything. I just hope she doesn’t get any hate votes to ruin things.

  7. Well, now we can only hope it was the real final like we predicted since Day 1 and Kuro won’t do anything funny. Poor Subara~
I don’t really like this Saki domination (it should be iM@S domination) but Toki is the one character in top16 I don’t want to lose no matter against whom. Still, I have this uneasy feeling about her beating only real Saki opposition, even if Akari isn’t my favorite YY (I prefer Kyouko and Yui). Unlucky draw.

  8. I’ve watched the series, and while I do like the characters like Saki and Toki, I was rooting for Akarin in hopes of her winning it all. Seeing the influx of fake votes/multivotes… I gotta say the Saki fans are getting greedy. (Sorry to say, but it doesn’t seem fair…)

Welp, I’m gonna give Saimoe 2012 a chance this match, but it’s not gonna be in my favor, especially considering this radar…

    1. Doesn’t seem fair? Isn’t the fake/multivote already been removed. Toki did beat Akari fair and square. Being able to see three turn ahead are more epic than lack of presence at least according to the Japanese.

      1. While I can’t argue that fake votes weren’t removed, keep note that every single fake vote was removed at the very end of the voting session unless the fake votes were that obvious as light to see. People can disguise the fake votes well enough to fool everyone else and they won’t be caught until the last second. It’s not exactly “fair and square” in that case.

    2. Fake and multivote are not the same. Fake votes aren’t counted by the final tally but deceive people and the vote tracker into thinking its a real vote (so people think that someone is winning or the match is close but the real vote tally is quite different) while multivote is just people voting more than once, which is counted as long as its not a fake vote. And there is no evidence that multivoting happened. The last multivoting incident was when Misaka Mikoto upset Homura in round 1 last year, and after the people who multivoted were caught, there was a huge backlash against Misaka and she got voted out.

At least thats how I understand it, Lun or fru should know exactly how it works.

      1. Yeah, that is exactly my point. Fake bote have been removed and there’s no evidence that mulitvoting happen. Toki beat Akari fair and square.

      2. I know that the fake votes and multivotes are different. The “/” just means both of them probably happened. And there were some IDs that multivoted, albeit in different posts. You can tell from what the ID was in the 2chan threads.

  9. \アッカリ~ン/

It’s not like I dislike Saki, but I really wanted Akkarin to win it all. Oh well, If Toki comes true and wins it’ll be okay I guess.

  10. For all my ranting, I actually did like Saki…both series, actually. And yeah, I actually wanted Kyouko to win it all for YY, but that hope was dashed early. Anyway, what got in my craw was the overkill. Like Progeusz said, I was thinking Im@s was gonna be The Big Bad this year. So wrong…so horribly wrong.

MadPanda…(Akarin not being here anymore is ironic, isn’t it?)…

Basically you got no evidence to prove that there are fake votes weren’t removed. You can not make those kind of baseless accusation or find excuse for Akarin lost. If Toki lost, even Toki fan can also use the same baseless accusation/excuse as you. Toki is more popular than Akarin which is why Toki win. It as simple as that.

    1. Remember this? http://i.imgur.com/Gsnv8.jpg The first graph was what showed during the whole voting period. The second graph happened when the voting period ended, removing every single fake vote that was oblivious. People, including me, witnessed the first graph, as they were neck-in-neck. It’s not necessarily a baseless accusation if things like this happened before and people actually saw it. No offense, but aren’t you being a little persistent on saying how Toki won “fair and square” when it’s clear that fake votes were used?

      1. The thing is fake vote from both Toki and Akarin already been removed. The official result is base on actual vote without including the fake vote. That is why I said Toki beat Akarin fair and square.

      2. Why is deploying fake votes unfair? In a match like this, anyone who didn’t vote for their character because of fake vote made then think they were winning is just an idiot then. Every KNEW there were going to be fake votes in a match like this.

      3. Fake votes has always been part of Saimoe.
Shizu from Saki loses due to her being fake voted and Saki faction let their guard down. You just gotta need to suck it up and move on.

  12. @Monster: Have you witnessed a voting graph before? Everyone sees the fake vote graph, not knowing how much is the actual vote. The official results without the fake votes appear when it’s after the voting period, which is when everyone sees the real votes.

@Kaosu: Such situations have happened, like the Madoka vs Railgun matches last year and even the Shizuno vs Cthugha match. Are you calling the many people who were confused and decided not to vote for the “fake” winner at those matches idiots then?

@Cantus: I know that fake votes aren’t uncommon. The fact that there was a major surge of such to make it a basic one-sided battle is the problem here. It’s like the majority of the fake votes were placed on Akari the whole period to keep Toki’s hidden victory in check.

    1. “It’s like the majority of the fake votes were placed on Akari the whole period to keep Toki’s hidden victory in check.”
Well there’s nothing we can do about it, for match like this its better not to look at the tracker at all throughout the day considering how unpredictable the fake votes are gonna be.

  13. Wouldn’t the high number of fake votes for Akarin more than likely encourage anti-Saki voters to try harder since it seems like a close match? If they knew she was way behind the whole time, they might have just given up.

    1. Yes I know but to be honest, I never look at the graph until the official one come out which is after the voting period. Beside, Akarin also have her own amount of fake vote, even more than Toki.

  14. No offense but seriously don’t you guys have better things to do in life than checking a graph with obviously fake votes in the internet.

  15. All right, guys. Everyone has their own interpretation of what’s fair and what’s not. I think it’s time we all move on, so I’m closing the comments for this post.😉
