No surprises today as Toki strolled to a victory over Iorin and Koromo once again proving that she’s higher than Tacos in the Saki pecking order. Interestingly, Tacos has bowed out of the tourney at the hands of a fellow Saki character in all of her three attempts – to Mihoko in 2009, and Nodoka in 2010. Meanwhile, Iorin’s exit means that Chihaya’s now the last idol standing.

So, it’ll be Saki vs Koromo in the Block A finals, and the long-awaited clash between Toki and Akarin in the Block B finals. More on that when the time comes, so let’s move on to the next matchday for now.

In the Block D clash, we see Nagi facing off against Louise in an All-Rie clash. Of course, there’s a hierarchy even amongst the Rie tsunderes, and Nagi ranks above Louise in that list. However, with this being Louise’s last shot at glory, things could change, but I just don’t see it happening.

The more interesting battle for the day is that of Kuuko vs Hisa. Hisa’s been hardly troubled so far, enjoying the luck of the draw after bad ones in her previous two Saimoe attempts. Kuuko’s done above expectations, having beaten Shizu by the smallest of margins to make it to this round. Hisa definitely has the edge here in terms of faction support, but Kuuko may have the support of strategic voters in the form of Rie fans who wants Lotte to go as far as possible. Furthermore, there will be voters who’re hoping to avenge Nyaruko’s defeat, so Hisa might be facing her fierce test yet. Will the Saki faction turn up in full force today, or will they repeat the same mistake from the previous round?

tl;dr Predictions: Kuuko, Nagi

So it’s the lesser of two evils, eh…. well, not really. I’d only consider Nagi “evil” in the sense that she has an unfortunately obsessive fanbase attached to her seiyuu, but other than that (and I guess the fact that, honestly, I’m just slightly more inclined to pair Hayate’s titular hero to certain other girls in the series, albeit I’m not near as badly against the hero/heroine pairing as I am with other shows), I really don’t have much against her. Easily one of Rie’s more decent (and remarkably sane) tsundere portrayals. If she can boot Louise from this tournament (hopefully for good this time), I’ll be one happy camper.

Agreed. If any of her charas should be here, it should be Nagi. Her record speaks for itself.

      MadPanda…(Hayate/Hinagiku FTW!)…

Y’know, as unlikely as this is, wouldn’t it be great if Chihaya actually won this whole thing? Talk about your dark horses!

So…Sakimoe continues (yawn!), and Nagi should level up against the Zero, especially now that the new season’s out (if that matters at all at this point).
