Well, well. Yuu had it easy as expected, though she wasn’t able to reach the heights of her magnificent Round 1 performance. Still, her vote count is the second highest in Round 2 so far, only beaten by that of her younger sister. On the evidence of her performances thus far, it’s highly unlikely that anyone would be able to stop her march to the quarter-finals.
The main discussion for the day, however, is definitely Ririchiyo’s victory over Chitanda. I wasn’t expecting that margin of victory to be honest, considering the fact that both were the winners of their respective prelim groups. However, looking at the combo votes, there was probably tactical voting employed by the Saki faction – the number of Yuu-Ririchiyo combo was 188 votes, higher than the Yuu-Eru combo of 131 votes. As mentioned yesterday, Chitanda was the greater threat to Kuro, and it seems that the Saki faction are now adopting a safer approach to matters after the hiccup they encountered in Block C-D – as shown by the tactical voting and the higher turn-out.
Moving on to the final two blocks of the round, we have, in my opinion, two straight-forward matches. Stealth Momo might have beaten Nodoka in the prelims back in 2010, but it’s highly unlikely that she’ll be able to repeat this feat in a main round match. On that note, Ai isn’t that strong of a competitor to take full advantage of the split. As for the other match-up, Poplar should have an easy day out unless Shana voters decide to come up with a plan to snipe her.
tl;dr Prediction: Nodoka, Poplar
P.S The daily graphics will be up again once frustra returns in a few days.
