This match day was rather straightforward. The biggest surprise of the day has to be Hibiki winning rather comfortably over Ringo. Yes, she belongs to the stronger faction but Ringo appeared to be on her level, at least in the prelims,  and she had Yassan on her side as well for this match day. Nonetheless, another good win for the idols, making them 5-1 in the Main Draw after a lackluster preliminary round performance.

2009 champ Taiga with a triumphant return – a good trial run as she gets ready for one of Round Two’s biggest matchups. I am already anticipating that one. Finally, Kurumi with a solid win as well, no luck for Saki this time.

Prediction: 3-0 (45-12)

Picks: 1-2 (Erika, Kaori) (30-27)

On Deck:

Now this is match day is better. Or is it?

Precure has been perfect in Round One, and Cure March will be looking to preserve that pristine record. She’ll have an uphill battle though as she’s defending against Yayoi and the Idolmaster camp, which have been rolling in Round One. I have Yayoi taking this, but it will be a hard-fought battle.

Fate/Zero has shown that they can deal with the Sakis, with Saber closing out the still winless Touka. Rin performed better than Saber in the past, being a 2006 quarterfinalist and all, so I must say I like her chances here, even though KokajiP has racked up better numbers in the prelims. I think her numbers are a bit inflated because her group was “Saki’d” so there’s that. Really tough pick here, but gotta go with Rin.

Finally, Yui gets a chance to keep up with her 2009 rival. A win here will have her in a rematch with Taiga (and Yuu [!]). I don’t think she’ll be stopped here. Haruka would have caused her some trouble, but only if this match was in 2011, where K-On was at its weakert. Yui and friends appear to be reinvigorated now, and I’m going to trust those prelim numbers in picking her to win this one. And yeah, it doesn’t get any better for Hayate as Hamster is pretty much toast here.

  1. (Recovering from yesterday’s total meltdown!)

Good on ya, Taiga…Kurumi too. Should’ve guessed Hibiki.

Today makes up for that…other…day as two of my faves should take home a win Despite the Im@s surge, I’m going with Nao-oneechan. A Yui-Taiga rematch is too juicy to pass up (sorry, Haruka!). And I’m hoping Rin could get some revenge for me.

    MadPanda…(downgraded from “ExtremelyP-ssedOffPanda”)…

  2. This horrible day when all my picks are either ignored or dismissed in a single sentence.

Well, at least I don’t particularly dislike the opposition. Didn’t expect Hamster to be so much weaker than Haruka though, but then again I actually did…
