Now that is MARU.

This win is definitely a nice gift for the birthday girl. Kudos to Makoto fans for showing up when she needed it the most, as she sure looked like the underdog going into the match. I guess danketsu defied the odds again. Curiously, this has been the second time that a HanaKana character has been tabbed as the favorite to win the match, only to yield to the idols.

True enough, Madoka was one of the characters that was able to withstand the recently ineffective Saki combo, stopping the Teru time. And somewhat surprisingly, she had the most comfortable victory out of the three winners.

Hajime was first, living up to her name. And Suzu did come up short, although I did not really expect her to put up much of a fight, she did come to battle, unfortunately in vain.

Predictions: 2-1 (36-9)

Picks: 2-1 (Suzu) (25-20)

On Deck:

Nagi is the designated closer for Block D, and she will make this look rather easy, despite Hayate’s struggles throughout Round One. She has been one of the most consistent characters in Saimoe (ever), with 16 wins now, and zero round one losses. In fact, her earliest exit has been only against then-finalist Tsukasa in 2008 in Round Three. Even though she’s probably at her most vulnerable state now (just like the rest of HnG), I just find it implausible that she’ll lose to someone who doesn’t even have a speaking role in the anime. Go figure.

Hinata will be up to the task to salvage the free-falling RKB campaign. I don’t see her having much trouble here, although Unused Chara is a Rie, and Perinne is a Strike Witch. This is Ogura Yui’s year after all. (Wait, Alice just lost).

Finally, the trickiest match of the set appears to be Touka-Saber-Agiri. Agiri won’t ninja this match, for sure, so it’s down to Saber and Touka. The former has the stronger group, but the latter just performed better across the board, and she has faction support too. So I’m leaning towards Touka to get her first ever Saimoe win.

A seemingly straightforward day to wrap up the block. Fine by me.

Thanks. I had just almost got over that. 。・゚・(ノД`)・゚・。

  2. MARU, indeed!

Darn it, Utao…if it was anyone else but Nagi, I’d vote for you. Going against the grain with Saber, but with the grain with Hinata.

    MadPanda…(6-0 last two days–that won’t last!)…

Saki fanbase is the hero we needs.
