This result is confirmed.
Apologies for the delayed post, but as you may already know, Akarin lives up to her billing as a championship-caliber candidate with a rout of Hayate’s Izumi. She even deployed invisible votes just for kicks. In the end she gathered almost sixty percent of the vote – not record-breaking, but nevertheless an impressive whitewashing indeed.
The highlight of the day though, has to be Kanade over Isumi – the former also lives up to her reputation, trolling Isumi out of a perfect record in Round One matches, while also denying her the ten-win milestone. Going further she ended up trolling Saimoe fantasy players everywhere.
These two results further reinforce the thought that Hayate is in their most vulnerable form ever. Saimoe is definitely no heaven for Hayate right now, and in fact it’s hell for them right now.
Not to be forgotten though is Yuka getting Natsuiro over the hump, which is nice after Saki’s tough loss.
Prediction – 2-1 (13-2)
Picks – 2-1 (Isumi losing) (10-5 overall)
It’s time again for Toki to show her championship potential that she can match up well to Akarin. However, the match of the day has to be Ayano versus Mei. Akarin’s impressive showing might give Ayano the edge here, but in the end I’m still going with Mei here, whose strength (or weakness) is might not be fully reflected by the low Group One totals. Finally, Iorin has to be the favorite over Mio and Komaki, not only based on the prelims performance and KugiRie mojo, but thanks to im@s’ inspiring performance in the Block A closer.
All right, I think I’ve recovered enough from Usamin’s and Mokkan’s loss yesterday to post again. /heh
It was a pretty dismal performance by the Hayate girls – to put it into perspective, there was a higher amount of Akarin-Kanade combo votes (128) as compared to Isumi-Izumi (86). Certainly not a good sign for the other Hayate girls bar their top two aces.
So two of today’s match-ups are pretty straight-forward – for Toki, it’s a question of how much rather than will she, while Iori will have a comfortable day out too. So eyes on Mei-Ayano. Both did quite well in the preliminaries – Mei had a far lower vote count as she was in Group 1 while Ayano finished a distant 3rd in her group. Faction-wise, Ayano certainly has a tremendous advantage here, but Mei might receive the support of Saki voters as they seek a competitor who could provide a challenge to Akarin before she possibly faces off against Toki in the block finals. It will be a tight one, but I think Mei will edge this one out thanks to MC power.
Pick: Iori, Airi, Rias
Prediction (12-3): Iori, Toki, Mei
