This result is confirmed.

The Battle of Tits ended up in a victory for Nodoka as Saki is now just one more win away from seizing half of the top spots in the group. Sena put up a decent fight, and garnering more than 300 votes should provide some form of encouragement for the Haganai ace.

Meanwhile, the YRYR duo of Ayano and Himawari came in a distant 3rd and 4th place – a decent performance but not one that suggests that they could be a big threat in this tourney. I did underestimate Himawari though, but Ayano is at Yui’s level, just like I’d suggested.

Elsewhere, Cure Sunny and Sen did better than expected to finish joint 5th. Ryuushi, Morishima-senpai, Suzu and Ayumi proved that they still have enough in the tank to qualify. Lit Girl‘s 12th placing is a slight disappointment considering Ringo’s good performance in the previous group. And what did I tell ya about her?

The most notable casualty in this group would definitely be Alice. The MC of a J.C Staff LN anime adaptation not making it directly to the main round? That’s something you don’t see often in recent years. Hanyuu didn’t make the cut too, while Kirika‘s performance just further confirms the fact that Japan (or at least the voters) hates Silver Link.

Moving on to the next group…

Stealth Momo and Kirame will be the ones flying the flag for Saki. Momo’s traditionally one of the stronger Saki representative, but Kirame’s popularity is slowly on the rise, so it would be interesting to see who finishes higher than the other.

The main threat to the Saki girls will be Nadeko. The Monogatari girls aren’t performing well at all, but Nadeko was without a doubt their ace in 2010. Could she be the one to wreck Saki’s hopes of taking half of the prelim top spots? After all, Arata’s facing hell in Group 15, so this is probably their only chance to do so.

Others who are in the frame:

  • Acchi Kocchi continues to be invisible, but surely their ace could fashion a response? Tsumiki is up, and with no much competition in this group, she should try to seize the initiative.
  • Hanekawa should be able to qualify with ease, riding on Nadeko’s coat-tails (not that she needs it though).
  • Sarasvati would add on to the Zombie contigent.
  • And Mami will do the same too for im@s.
  • Cordelia should be good enough to proceed.
  • Some Aoi Yuuki mojo will push Hibiki through as she looks to follow Kurisu/Chris into the main round.
  • The more popular Kurisu should be able to secure a spot. It would be slightly more difficult for Feyris though.
  • Others: Mai and Mio is up for Nichijou but they haven’t been doing well. The other Saki girls will look forward to add to the total tally, especially Kokaji. Rika‘s hoping to build on Niku’s fine performance, but she isn’t the most popular Haganai girl around. Sanae will want to join up with  Ika in her invasion plans. Saori would fancy her chances too.

tl;dr 1.) Stealth Momo 2.) SUBARAA 3.) Nadeko 4.) Tsumiki 5.) Hanekawa 6-12.) Kurisu/Kokaji/Cordelia/Sarasvati/Mami/Hibiki/Sanae

Wow, this may be the first time since I’ve kept up with Saimoe that not a single one of my picks made it into the prelim group.

    Feels Batman.

Every time someone says “Kirame Hanada”, I’m like “who the hell is that?”

@The Guy: Ouch. Hopefully they’ll have better luck in the second prelims
@Kaosu: I think almost everyone thinks that way, LOL

No I mean, no one made into ONE group, meaning group 12.
