Ika Musume handily defeated Hidamari Sketch ace Yuno to complete her invasion of Block D as the fourth Block Finals match of Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 concluded Friday. Ika Musume led from the get-go and never relinquished her lead to deny Yuno once again of a Quarterfinals berth for the third time.

Ika Musume joins Astarotte Ygvar, Erica Hartmann and Kaname Madoka in the Quarterfinals, with pairings to be determined in a later date.

On Deck:

No problems for Ika who condemned Yuno to yet another block final defeat. Gotta feel sorry for the veteran, but she’s done pretty well in a year that’s dominated by newcomers. For Ika, I guess the main worry is that she hasn’t been able to garner as much votes as a Puella Magi (eg. Madoka), but hey, she did manage it in the first round, so let’s see how it goes in the quarter finals.

Moving on to today’s match – Sayaka’s the favorite to take down Haqua over here thanks to a far superior faction support. Haqua has done very well to reach this far, beating the former champion and Ohana on her way here, but there’s a possibility that her vote totals were boosted during these matches thanks to strategic voting. Meanwhile, Sayaka’s match-ups has not been easy either, having to go through tricky matches against the Railgun duo and Charlotte, but she was able to beat her opponents comprehensively. Furthermore, the vote restriction doesn’t seem to be affecting the Puella Magis, as shown by Madoka who thumped Elsea a few days ago. The outcome would probably be similar here.

Pick: Haqua
Prediction: Sayaka
