Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica’s streak stretched to eleven wins as Tomoe Mami blasted Strike Witches’ Miyafuji Yoshika in Round Three of Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011. Mami garnered the second highest vote percentage in this year’s tourney, and the eighth highest all-time on her way to the Block Finals, where she will face Hidan no Aria’s Hotogi Shirayuki.

Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai’s Haqua d’Rot Herminium completed the Block Finals lineup for Block E, in her intra-series victory over Takahara Ayumi. Up next for Haqua will be Madoka Magica’s Miki Sayaka in a battle for a place in the Quarterfinals.

(Lun’s) writeup to follow shortly.

This round is turning out to be boring eh, with all the predictable outcomes. Mami continues her fantastic form by trouncing Yoshika even when not much effort is needed, while Haqua sets up a clash with Sayaka.

Well, moving on to today’s match-ups. Somewhat predictable again, with Index and Kuroneko to win their matches based on superior support. There might be something going on in Index’s match, eg. Oreimo fans wishing to avenge Kirino’s defeat or MadoMagi wanting to play it safe for Kyouko, but I doubt that will be the case – Kiririn and Kuroneko supporters don’t get along well together, while the Madoka faction is in a confident mood to believe that there will be no need for strategic voting.

Picks: Haruka, Asuha
Prediction: Index, Kuroneko

  1. Isn’t only 11 wins so far? It’s 4 characters and 4 wins per round, and Mami s third in that order. When Kyoko wins her match, then it’ll be 12.
