HA HA TIME FOR BLOCK G.

And here we are, three quarters of the opening round done, and we’re (finally) off to Round Two. Let’s get this over with.

G01
Group 15 3rd 211 29.35% Rose @ Dragon Crisis!
Group 7 27th 68 10.18% Isara Gunther @ Senjou no Valkyria 3: Tagatame no Juusou
Group 10 5th 221 26.79% Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen @ Strike Witches 2

>Eh, tough match. Can Eila stave off another KugiRie win, I wonder. Dragons over witches in this one, more likely than not.

It sure is a tough match that can go either way. Strike Witches is alive and well true, as reflected by most of their wins, but I think Rose is one of the stronger ones that a Witch will face this round, that has me leaning toward a Dragon Crisis win.

G05
Group 6 17th 97 12.23% Kudou Aiko @ Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu: Matsuri
Group 1 15th 97 17.80% Hoshimiya Yashiro @ Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko
Group 5 13th 184 21.75% Ayuzawa Misaki @ Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

>It’s like I am actually in 2nd prelims! Good for Misaki to get a win though.

Misaki has way better stats than these two but we’ve seen plenty of reversals in this round. I won’t be surprised if this became closer than it should be, but Misaki will likely have what it takes to prevent an “upset.”

G11
Group 2 1st 252 44.92% Akechi Kokoro (Kokoro-chan) @ Tantei Opera Milky Holmes
Group 6 11th 158 19.92% Yuki-Onna (Oikawa Tsurara) @ Nurarihyon no Mago
Group 10 16th 82 9.94% Elfleda Mirjasdottír (Effie) @ Astarotte no Omocha!

>The heart and mind are in agreement with this one- Kokoro wins, easily.

The thing with Milky Holmes is that they haven’t lost a match since Cordelia lost in Block A. The challenge begins after this though, as both Saku and Sherlock are undoubtedly underdogs in their respective matches.

Before that, however, we’ll get to see Kokoro win this one in style.

Manga Saimoe Main Draw, Round One

We’re finally off to Round One. Here’s who are on deck:

Here’s where you can  copy the proper voting codes with translation by chaosprophet. Please do copy ONLY the Japanese ones when placing your votes, along with the code.

The code gen, tournament bracket and current voting thread is in the sidebar, as usual. The Primer, which has instructions on how to vote is also updated a little bit for a few opening round notes.

I’ll also be trying to predict (perhaps in vain) the winners, and here’s my initial crack at it:
A01 Nase Asumi
B01 Lucy
C01 Isumi

C01 has Saki vs. Hayate going at it (Izumi and Touka got matched last year in the prelim 1 of AST last year), with Rena trying to steal it. I still fancy Izumi coming out on top of this one. A01 is a wild guess, but she had the best numbers and Hikari no Go’s mains seem to be solid at this stage. Lucy will easily get B01 methinks.

===LUN HIJACK===

Some tricky matches today: Eila vs Rose, and Misaki vs Yashiro vs Aiko. Strike Witches have been doing rather well so far, and Eila is probably in the mid-range tier in terms of popularity among the witches. Rose is powered by KugiRie, but she has more yan- tendencies rather than tsun, which is more favored in Saimoe. Misaki seems like the favorite to win this, but Yashiro has a stronger series backing and Aiko has had increased screentime in the second season of Baka Test. In the end, Yashiro’s lack of screentime will probably cause her to suffer, while Aiko isn’t the most popular Baka Test girl around, so she’s out too.

Picks: Eila, Yashiro, Tsurara
Prediction: Eila, Misaki, Kokoro

Also, it’s been a few days since I last updated the stats worksheet – been busy with stuff lately but I’ll update it ASAP. Also if you’ve missed the previous post, be sure to check it out.
