To be honest I can’t remember the last time a match was ever suspended in Saimoe history, but shit like that happens. I don’t think it will derail the anticipated Main Draw debut of Kaname Madoka though, so let’s get to it quickly.
Group 4 10th 157 21.13% Sendou Erika @ Fortune Arterial: Akai Yakusoku
Group 6 8th 182 22.95% Tsurumi Chiriko @ Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai
Group 16 1st 459 58.03% Kaname Madoka @ Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica
>Consecutive matches for AnoHana but different fortunes. Tsuruko is up against the draw’s top seed if there is such a thing. So what’s gonna be Madoka’s winning margin? Will she set a mark with regard to vote percentage too? Too bad she’s not paired with higher-profile matches, otherwise those vote totals are gonna skyrocket.
The funny thing is, Madoka’s strength alone might be enough to make the vote totals skyrocket. Scratch the sniping attempts here, it’s not gonna happen. Also scratch the consecutive matches part, by virtue of Madoka’s will it ended up not happening as well. I don’t see a record-breaking perfomance happening, but I do see some good old-fashioned thrashing.
Group 13 15th 120 15.29% Sakuma Rinko @ Yondemasuyo, Azazel-san.
Group 1 12th 105 19.27% Arashiyama Hotori @ Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru
Group 1 13th 99 18.17% Sae @ Hidamari Sketch x ☆☆☆ Tokubetsu-hen
>Okay this is a tough match to get. Hotori is SoreMachi’s ace, Rinko is Azazel’s lone representative and Sae has always been around since 2006 Hidamari has a penchant for winning these types of matches but I’m gonna gamble with Hotori clinching this.
Uhh. This is still tough. I wonder which one is gonna get shafted. Rinko might be the sleeper pick here as Azazel also has its share of popularity. I’m leaning toward 2ch favoring the new, so Hotori it is, but seriously, this can go any way. Sae has always been the unlucky Hidamari so I think that trend stretches for another year. A second prelim match that will be fun to watch.
Group 14 11th 106 19.27% Q @ C
Group 4 5th 259 34.86% Run @ A Channel
Group 4 16th 109 14.67% Akai Ringo @ Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi
>She’s gonna be running away with this one.
Rematch. Run is one of the stronger A-channeler so I have no doubts that she is gonna win this, and among these three, she belongs to the strongest faction. I don’t think Ringo will be starring in this fight.
Predictions: Madoka, Hotori, Run.
Picks: Tsuruko, Hotori, Ringo
And there you have it.

Re: Manga Saimoe: Group Three is up, and it’s not a particularly explosive group to be honest. Looking at the lineup, I’m expecting it to be a tossup among Katte ni Kaizou’s Yamada, Evangelion’s Asuka, FMA’s Risa Hayate’s Maria and Mysterious Girlfriend X’s Urabe Mikoto. I expect the mysterious girlfriend herself to take this one down.
Hmm, it’s kind of a pity that yesterday’s match-ups were abandoned, because today’s matches are somewhat less interesting. Madoka to turn up the heat here, and let’s see whether she’ll be able to obtain the highest vote percentage. Run should chalk up a win too, though she would have to be wary of Ringo since vote counts will be inflated by Madoka’s presence. Ironically, the most competitive match for the day will be fought between the lower-key characters – Sae will receiving some backing from the Hidamari faction, but like other veteran series, age is catching up and it’ll be worse for Sae since she’s not the most popular Hidamari girl around. That leaves us with Hotori and Rinko, both not really stand-out characters either. I’m going for Hotori though based on prelim stats.
Prediction: Madoka, Hotori, Run
