Nakano Azusa of K-On! advanced to the Semifinals of Anime Saimoe Tournament 2010 as she dominated Working!!’s Yamada Aoi. Azusa immediately seized the initiative from the outset, and maintained the lead throughout the match. Yamada’s defeat ensured that there will be no newcomer winners in this year’s tournament. Azusa will next meet Saki’s Haramura Nodoka for a spot in the championship match.
Saimoe takes a one-day break, and will resume on the 13th with Sanzeni’in Nagi (Hayate no Gotoku!) and Amae Koromo (Saki) battling it out in the first Semifinal match.

Yamada ;_; Azunyan, you better not go Nodoka. You have my sword. And my axe. And my bow. And my support.
I wish the Super Waitress could have fought harder, but for her to this far is already beyond my expectations. In any case, going against Azusa is never easy as she’s been dominant all tournament long. The only signs of vulnerability she has shown was against Mikoto, but she was essentially handicapped in that match. Also, we’re in the closing stages of the match, the odds of strategic voting to take place have whittled down significantly. I think this is all about raw power at this stage, and that chiefly benefits Azusa.
And no, Yamada was never used as a tool in my view, as she maintained the same vote totals throughout. Her numbers did not dip as low as Mafuyu’s. If Yamada’s gonna go out, going out against the most probable champion is not bad. At all.
Well, another (really) brief writeup this time, since we’re on a one-day break.
Semifinals preview and new poster up tomorrow. (since i haven’t thought of any new ideas for the latter yet). ._.
