No Kidding

Saki’s Amae Koromo rode a deluge of votes on her way to a Block Finals victory in Block D in Anime Saimoe Tournament 2010. Last year’s quarterfinalist wasted no time and took care of business from the get-go, easily beating her overmatched foes Sakurano Kurimu (Seitokai no Ichizon) and Yamamoto Nanako (Hanamaru Youchien). Koromo’s win was the second successive Block Final win for Saki, and the fourth consecutive time that a Block winner is a returning quarterfinalist.

The next match will break the streak of returning contenders though, as Tachibana Kanade from Angel Beats!, Tsukuyomi Komoe from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, and Yamada Aoi from Working!! will fight for Block E supremacy.

Okay that match was a blowout. The other two didn’t even give a fight. They basically got doubled by Koromo, and where were the antis? Maybe they figured this wasn’t a match to pay attention to anyway. Glad they weren’t there for this match though, since I was rooting for a Koromo walk-in-the-park. And a stroll, it was. That’s it for what could be the least competitive match of the eight, and now we go in to another interesting one.

This match should be good. Yamada has been styling in her opening two matches but that had a lot to do with easy draw. Still great numbers though all-around though.

As for Komoe, she’s gonna get bus’d. Her numbers pale in comparison, although she managed to beat a floundering Haruhi in the opening round. But still, if the antis are gonna be flocking around to deal with Tenshi, they’re gonna be going for Yamada.

Speaking of Tenshi, it has not been easy for her. Index and Nagato are Block boss-caliber, but she had to deal with them 1-2, and she almost lost to Nagato in an epic fight match. Numbers are stellar all through out.

Prediction? Tenshi. I think it’s gonna be a good match with Yamada though. The latter has a shot if the 2ch tactitians believe that Kanade is too much of a threat, but I think Tenshi is destined to push through here. As for picks, both are my banner girls so I’m fine with either although man, i wished they just didn’t have to go against each other. Oh well, went with Yamada ultimately because this might be the last time for her this year.

4 down, 4 to go. We’re almost there!
