Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu’s Main Draw debut was successful as Shimada Minami locked down her opponents as the eighth day of Anime Saimoe Tournament 2010 concluded Tuesday. Eliminated from Saimoe contention by virtue of Minami’s victory were Ookami Kakushi’s Kushinada Nemuru, Hanamaru Youchien’s Tsuchida Satsuki, and Bakemonogatari’s Araragi Karen.

The other match saw Bakemonogatari’s Oshino Shinobu preying on Koihime Musou’s Ryuubi, Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu’s Asakura Ryouko, and Mahou Sensei Negima’s Miyazaki Nodoka.

Right on the money with these two matches. Nothing spectacular happened in matches that didn’t feature superstar names, so yeah. We’ll be having one in today’s card, though. Anyway, dead even in picks once again, going now to 8-8 overall, while my predictions improved to 13-3. Congrats Minami (Mizuhashi Kaori power!) and pity the superior Nodoka. Sigh.

Basically this is Nagi vs. Nazuna, Working vs. Hayate. Of course there is always a chance of an upset, but I’m not really convinced of Nazuna’s strength overall. I think she’ll only make this matchup closer than it should be, but I expect Nagi to pull it off. AFter all, she’s the most consistent Hayate no Gotoku character when it comes to Saimoe, so I don’t see her losing THIS early. In addition, she managed to go toe-to-toe with a much stronger character in Senjougahara, and even a theoretically stronger Working character in Inami. So all signs point to a Nagi win. And she has my support.

Second match is much trickier, which has me leaning between Senoo Kaori and Himari. Sure Kaori has a stronger faction backing her, but Himari has MC status. However she’s going to fight a split with Kuesu. My original prediction here is Himari, but it kinda looks iffy right now. Anyway, I’ve called Himari before, might as well go with it. My pick for this round, however, is for beginner’s luck: Kaori it is.

And these are the last set of matches before the four-day break, and who knows what am I going to cook up by then. -_-

Real glad that Minami won her match. I can imagine her celebrating her win by attempting to confess to Aki, only to have him say something to piss her off. She puts Aki in a sharpshooter and Ninja Pervert starts to take snapshots up her skirt before exploding in a pool of blood.

Also, who is that on the front page of this volume of the Saimoe Reporter?

Today I’m split between Nagi and Nazuna in Group A, while voting for Kaori in Group B.
