First of all, congratulations to the Saki series! After 2 years of repeated choking, they have finally won Saimoe in spectacular fashion – claiming the prize with the semis to spare! Hisa completing the sweep was quite iconic in my opinion, as she too has been pretty unlucky herself in the previous two Saimoe iterations she took part in. The wait surely paid off in the end, eh?
As for Shana, this match marks her last foray in Saimoe, and while she wasn’t able to set the record of 19 individual wins, she was able to set a new record in terms of number of appearances. 24 appearances, 18 wins, 3 quarter-final appearances – that’s certainly no easy feat, and she’ll be remembered as an iconic figure in this tourney for years to come.
So a one-day break before the semis begin. More on that later.

It’s extremely cool. Character doesn’t have to be excessively cute to be moe. Hisa is the coolest and sexiest character in Saki. Favorite of first series, now only Toki stands above her in my ranking.
But isn’t being moe supposed to give the viewer a need to protect the moe character? I think you might be thinking of just plain sexy, not moe.
It’s also about affection.
So I guess you have affection for cool and sexy?
Not this year, not ever again.

Well, on the bright side, at least Saki will likely suffer Winner’s Syndrome next year.
But jeez, she couldn’t even beat HISA?! What a way to go.
R.I.P. Taiga, Louise, and Shana. May Nagi avenge you all next year.
Well, this screwed my Fantasy, and Shana’s last real chance at glory, but I don’t mind because I love Hisa. Now, if only she could beat Kuro, and Toki could beat Nodoka, I would have a character I actually like as champion, as opposed to last year when the one Madoka I didn’t like ended up winning.
Of course, I know what will actually happen. At least Toki might have a chance, I guess…
I’ve been praying for Hisa to get the fighting chance she deserves.
